Through commitment, innovation, and creativity, the recipient will have made a significant contribution to his/her graduate institution through works, related to increasing awareness and education around multiculturalism, more specifically, as it relates to people of color. The 2017 Award for Outstanding Social Justice Practice was awarded to ELPA PhD studentSheltreese McCoy.The Award for Outstanding Social Justice Practice recognizes a significant contribution to the growing body of social justice and intersectionality work in theoryand practice.The award will be presented at the 2017 Creating Change Conferencein Philadelphia, PA.

Additionally,Sheltreesehas been invitedby the American College Personal Association (ACPA) Coalition for LGBTA to share her research on May 1, 2017 12pm. This will be on an online platform to be determined later.
