Xueli Wang

Research in Higher Education to publish Wang’s paper examining STEM transfer pathways  

Served as editor of ​a special issue of New Directions for Institutional Research titled, "Studying Transfer in Higher Education: New Approaches to Enduring and Emerging Topics."   
Professor Wang also authored two chapters with Kelly Wickersham and Ning Sun, both Ph.D. students in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis co-authoring on chapter.

Walter Parrish, ELPA PhD student, receives ACPA OUTSTANDING GRADUATE STUDENT  AWARD.  

This award recognizes an outstanding graduate student completing a degree in Student Affairs or a related field. Through commitment, innovation, and creativity, the recipient will have made a significant contribution to his/her graduate institution through works, related to increasing awareness and education around multiculturalism, more specifically, as it relates to people of color. Congratulations to Gwen Baxley & Julie Kallio, ELPA PhD students, were selected to participate in the David L. Clark National Graduate Student Research Seminar in Educational Administration & Policy, in San Antonio in April. Nearly 90 doctoral students from 7 countries were nominated with only the top-ranked proposals selected.

Peter Miller.              

  Each year the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals recognizes excellence in the field of LGBTQ student services. The 2017 Award for Outstanding Social Justice Practice was awarded to ELPA PhD student Sheltreese McCoy.  The Award for Outstanding Social Justice Practice recognizes a significant contribution to the growing body of social justice and intersectionality work in theory and practice. The award will be presented at the 2017 Creating Change Conference in Philadelphia, PA. 

Additionally, Sheltreese has been invited by the American College Personal Association (ACPA) Coalition for LGBTA to share her research on May 1, 2017 12pm. This will be on an online platform to be determined later.
